Kisses and Blankies

A few weeks ago I was pretty upset on my way home from work. I picked up the boys and drove home. On the way home, I broke down and just started crying. I hear a little voice coming from the back seat:
"You sad Mommy?"
"Yes Brendan, Mommy is sad."
"Aw! I sorry mommy, I kiss you get home."
"Thank you Brendan"
"Blankie make you feel better."

A smile breaks through my tears. He is such a sweet boy, I am lucky to have such a wonderful, caring son.

When we got home, Brendan ran to the back room while I tried to pull myself together. Suddenly I hear Brendan struggling and crying "it's stuck!" I find him in my room trying to pull my comforter off my bed. "Blankie's stuck!"

I fall to the ground and wrap the little guy in my arms. Because to a toddler, kisses and blankies make everything better.

Last night he, of course, stepped on something while running around not paying attention. He yells and I ask whats wrong. He lays down in front of me while I was holding Caleb and asks me to kiss his little dirty foot to make it feel better.
